Dear One,
There is a strategic reason why the devil tempts people in high places of responsibility in the earth, in government, in ministries, in teaching, in sports and in entertainment. It is so that he will manipulate more people by tempting the people who have influence over them. The devil tempts them to do evil, injurious or immoral acts, thus affecting their followers to either do the same acts or to lose faith in the positions of service through which the authorities worked.
When the public servants in government, ministries, sports, teaching and entertainment yield to temptations and do immoral or evil actions, thousands and thousands of people are affected with thoughts and attitudes of distrust, judgment and condemnation. Very often, others will emulate the evil behavior as if their idols have given them permission to fall for the same temptations.
When you fully realize the key to forgiveness, which explains that all evil is instigated by the devil, it should be easier for you to forgive a person who falls for temptations since you have fallen for temptations yourself in other areas.
Another reason why the enemy tempts people who have authority over others is that when the person falls for the temptation and it becomes known, it pushes more and more people into judgmental thoughts and attitudes which will boomerang back on them, causing them to be judged also by others. So there are multitudes of evil crops that grow out of the moral failures of people in high positions of authority.
Your first reaction, as a child of mine, should be to forgive them because they don't know they have been used by the devil to influence thousands of people.
My forgiveness doesn't pick and choose whom I will forgive. I issue blanket forgiveness. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, not just a few.
Don't let the failures of another person cause you to fall for the temptation to judge and condemn the person. My mercy is extended to every person instead of judgment.
Like your wise grandson Neil said, "Everybody makes mistakes and next time it just might be you."
Let your reaction always be to extend mercy and forgiveness instead of judgment.
Love, God
