My Dear Precious Child,
My children get confused by My teaching about forgiving the sins of others and the fact that I forgive them to the same degree that they forgive others. It's really very simple. It's the strategy of passing on to others what I have done for you. You want Me to forgive you for seeking vengeance for someone who somehow hurt you, which is a sin because of your having yielded to the devil's demon of retribution, but you don't choose to have mercy and forgive the sin of the person who hurt, injured, cheated, maligned or disappointed you.
Jesus cleared up the lack of understanding when He told the parable about the ungrateful debtor. In fact, in that parable He said that My kingdom of heaven is compared to a king who decided to settle some accounts owed by his servants to him. He announced the day that the money had to be paid back to the master. He called a servant to himself who owed him a large debt, ten million dollars, but the man had no means to pay what he owed. However, the servant had a wife, children and possessions. His master gave orders that he, his wife, his children and his possessions all be sold in order to pay the debt in full. The servant threw himself at the feet of his master and begged for mercy, for time to get the money so that his family would not be sold. His master felt so sorry for the servant that he let him go and cancelled the man's debt. The servant was completely set free.(Matthew 18:23-27)
As the servant went out into the marketplace he happened to meet a fellow servant who owed him only 100 dollars. He grabbed the man by the throat and began to choke him for not paying his debt to him. The debtor begged the other servant who was free of his debt to allow him to have time to earn the 100 pounds so that he could pay for his debt. The servant refused to give him time and even threw him in jail unti lhe could pay the 100 pounds that he owed. (Matthew 18:28-30)
Some fellow servants were upset at the lack of compassion in the first servant who was forgiven of his 10,000 dollar debt but refused to forgive the 100 dollars owed to him, so they told the master all of the details of the servant refusing to show compassion. The master called the unmerciful servant to himself and told him that he was ungrateful, asked him why he had not cancelled all of the money owed to him since the master had cancelled for him an even greater debt. The master announced to him that he was supposed to have pity on the man who owed him 100 pounds because the master had had pity on him and forgave his debt of 10,000 dollars. (Matthew 18:31-34)
The man who was forgiven of the 10,000 dollars but refused to forgive a man who owed him 100 dollars was turned over to torturers until he could pay his debt, which had already been forgiven but since he did not forgive the man of his100 dollar debt, he had to pay his own debt of 10,000 dollars.
The truth of that parable is that because I forgive your many sins, that you must also forgive the sins of anyone who sins against you. When My kingdom of heaven is present in your life, the mercy and compassion of My kingdom of heaven affords complete forgiveness for you and for everyone.
Jesus was reiterating his teaching about never returning evil for evil done to you. He said if someone strikes you on the face that you should refuse to strike in return, but instead you need to have pity on the person, pray for him, bless the person and do good to the person, (Matthew 5; 38-48)
Forgiving someone in My kingdom of heaven is done from a spirit of mercy and compassion, doing to others what I have done to you. I forgive ALL of your sins and the sins of everyone who sins against you because Jesus died for all of your sins, so you must also die to the temptations of the demon of vengeance who tempts you to seek revenge. My Spirit of mercy in you will die to the devil's temptations for revenge because you have been forgiven. If you don't forgive everyone of their offenses toward you, you will experience torture at the hand of the devil because you are doing the devil's will by seeking revenge. You have left My kingdom of mercy and compassion and have joined the devil's kingdom of vengeance and retribution. Torture in the form of destruction and devastation are his rewards.
Because Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of ALL people, you must not bind a person's sins to him because, if you do, you are doing the devil's will in the matter because he is the accuser and the one who seeks retribution. In refusing to forgive someone, you have separated yourself from Me, My kingdom of heaven and My forgiveness for you, and you have opened the door for the vengeance of the devil to torture you. (Matthew 18:33-35)
For My children who have been forgiven by Me for committing sins in the earth, My kingdom of heaven requires them to have My mercy and compassion, forgiving the sins of others through gratitude for their own sins having been forgiven by Me (John 20:21-24) Forgiveness flows through My children who have been forgiven because of My mercy and compassion in them, and so they forgive others also so that they will not be bound to their own sins or the sins of other people. (Matthew 6:12)
Forgiveness is merely letting go of an offense, making it nonexistent in your mind just like your sins have become white as snow in My eyes. (Isaiah 1:18)
Mercy, compassion and forgiveness are outgrowths or fruits of My Holy Spirit living inside of you. Let My forgiveness flow through you to everyone so that you will not to bring the devil's kingdom and his retribution upon you which are torture.
My mercy forgives all offenses and the children of My kingdom choose mercy and forgiveness for others. Forgiving the sins of everyone brings complete freedom to you. (John 8:36)
Your Forgiving, Merciful Father
