PROMISING AND SWEARING

Dear One,
Don't swear to yourself or to anyone else to do something.
What you should do is be determined in your own mind to do something without promising to perform a duty or obligation.
There is a difference between promising or swearing to do something and being determined to do it.
When you swear or promise to do something, you open yourself up for failure because you don't know the future circumstances that can change in an instant which will keep you from performing what you have promised.. Then guilt and condemnation will enter your mind because you have failed yourself or someone else when the promise is not kept.
However, when you are merely determined to do something, you are not involving success or failure because determination is always working toward goals rather than promising to meet them, whether they are social obligations, business obligations, religious obligations or family obligations.
Promising to do something will bind you to the perceived end results; but being determined to do something will always keep the goal visible without a sense of failure if you don't meet it at the appointed time.
Be flexible in setting goals. Even promising to meet a goal by a certain time will set you up for failure. Setting a goal and then being determined to meet that goal in the future will make leeway for unforeseen events to enter the situation without guilt or condemnation entering to torment you.
Let your answer always be, "I will do my best." Then be determined to perform what you have been asked to do. Yet you have not bound yourself to the promises or obligations that other people set for you. You will be free of realistic and unrealistic expectations from yourself and other people.
Peace will come to you when you free yourself from binding promises. Your determination to meet a goal will be easier with less pressure.
I came to earth to set you free. Enjoy your freedom by refusing to bind yourself with promises, swearing to meet obligations. You can give your best effort to people without binding promises which will bring condemnation if they are not met.
Strive for freedom in all areas of your life.
Love, God
