EMPHATIC INSTRUCTIONS
My Dear Precious Child,
In the apostle Paul's calling to the attention of My children some problems in the Corinthian church that were causing division and contention in their group, Paul was peeved that there was a big emotional fight between two factions, two people who were leading other people in arguing doctrine. (I Corinthians:10-15)  The factions were caused by My children comparing the teachings of different apostles and arguing over whose teaching was right.  In Paul's correction of the entire church He let them know that one teacher lays a foundation, another one waters it and I cause the increase.  He told the rest of the church that it was not for them to think they were so important and spiritually astute as to take sides against each other.
In his correction he reminded them of an old saying, "Keep to what is written."  In other words, remain loyal to what was spoken and recorded by Jesus Christ as the final authority.  He told them to assess their progress in faith and determine if they were already so rich in the things of My kingdom that they felt wise enough to argue about truths. (I Corinthians 4:6-9)  He had already told them that they were babies in spiritual things, still drinking milk when they should be eating solid food themselves by hearing from My Holy Spirit.  He said that he felt like he was being left out of being consulted while they were acting like celebrities among themselves.   He felt like a pauper in the body of Christ because of their arrogance in their own self-importance.
Paul warned them that he was coming to see them and that those people who thought they were so self-important would have to prove their claims by what they could do spiritually, not with what they could merely say.  He said that My kingdom of God consists not merely in words but in power, by the demonstrations of the power of My Holy Spirit in the gifts of My Holy Spirit. (chapter 4, verses 18-24)
In his letter to the church at Corinth My Spirit wrote through Paul that there was also something even more concerning in their midst.  He said that he had heard that there was sexual immorality among them, that one of the men was sleeping with his stepmother, which was considered incest.  Instead of the Corinthians having great pride in the works of their church, Paul said they should be in mourning that they allowed such a thing to exist in their church.  (chapter 5, verses 1-5)  He told them to expel the man from their community by turning him over to satan so that his sexual body would be destroyed but his soul would be saved.
Paul's reason for being so strict about the sexual immorality was so that the body of Christ in their church would remain pure.  Paul reminded them that a small amount of yeast is enough to affect a whole lump of dough, so they needed to get rid of the old bread and start over with a new loaf.  They needed to get rid of the old yeasts of evil and wickedness in their midst and leave only the unleavened virtues of sincerity and truth.  (chapter 5, verses 6-8)  In other words, clean up the temple of God, My body of Christ.  Jesus Christ was sacrificed for them so that they would have the power of My Holy Spirit to recognize evil and get rid of the pollution that was sent by the devil to destroy My children.
Further explaining his being so strict in his advice, Paul clarified himself by writing that in another letter when he told them not to associate with people living immoral lives that he was not talking about refusing to associate with the people in the world who are sexually immoral, usurers, swindlers or idol worshipers, because to do that they would have to withdraw from people altogether.  What he had been talking about was admonishing them not to associate with a brother or a sister Christian who is openly leading a sexually immoral life or is a usurer, idolatrous, a slanderer, a drunkard or dishonest.  He said not to eat with them because to do so would mean that you approve of their sinful lives and you approve of their poisoning the whole church by eating with them and placing your stamp of approval upon their immoral behavior.
I said through Paul that it is not your job to judge the people outside of the church but you are given My authority to judge the people inside of the church in order for the church to maintain its purity.  So Paul wrote that they should drive out the evil doer who was among them in order to purify the church again by refusing to welcome into their midst the sexually immoral person who was polluting the church.  (chapter 5, verses 9-13)
Because the Corinthians were such babies in spiritual things, they were easily deceived by the devil, identifying evil as being good at times.  That is why Paul was so disgusted with their being so unspiritual, lacking in discernment.  The gift of discernment is the gift of the Holy Spirit which judges the fruit of a person by identifying evil as being from the devil and good as being from Me.  Jesus Christ told his followers that the Holy Spirit would reveal evil for them and also reveal good for them, and He would show them how to judge between the two. (John 16:7-11)  Because My children in the Corinthian church were so ignorant of spiritual things they had allowed the devil to enter into their church unidentified even though it was clearly by apparent sexual immorality.
My Holy Spirit discerns the fruit of righteousness and the fruit of evil.  My children must learn to hear His voice of discernment so that they can keep their own bodies and minds pure and unpolluted by evil.  The Holy Spirit's voice of discernment is one of the most advantageous gifts that I give to My children because it is their only way to stay on the narrow path that leads to the abundant life that I have for My children.  (Matthew 7:14)
    Your Protective Father
