Don't defeat yourself by buying into negativity with anyone.
You can sever emotional ties to people who are negative without removing your love from them. The secret is to refuse to allow negativity to be lord of your life.
Negative thoughts and words are sent by the devil to defeat you and he will persist and persist until he thinks he has you in his grasp by causing you to become negative, doubtful, unbelieving, divisive, confrontational, oppositional, judgmental, condemning and all of his other characteristics. Then he becomes lord of your life for that time until you jerk yourself out of those mindsets.
One of the devil's tricks is to influence you to become angry with the person who introduces negativity into your life. You forget that the person doesn't know what he is doing, but you do because you know the damaging effects of the spirit of negativity.
Casting down negative thoughts and forcing your thoughts to ascend above the offensive situation into My realm of kind thoughts, merciful thoughts, wise thoughts and forgiving thoughts will cause you to overcome the onslaught.
When you first begin to get emotional about a situation you are on a downward slant. Refuse to be emotional. Instead, join with Me in your thoughts to My Kingdom realm, then you will begin to have My emotions of love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, patience and faith. Those emotions are beneficial to you. Your body heals in that atmosphere and the offending situation is healed when you are in that atmosphere.
Know the tactics of your enemy and you won't be self defeated.
